Where to eat in Wiesbaden

The honest picture: Wiesbaden's casino hotel stay is not a one-building dinner. The Kurhaus kitchen is being rebuilt and the hotel serves breakfast and drinks, but the Rheingau nearby is one of Germany's great wine regions, and a Michelin-starred kitchen has moved into Kloster Eberbach.

The short version

Kitchen verdict

Eat in town and in the Rheingau; use the casino for a light supper.

The one-starred Ente (Kloster Eberbach, Eltville) is a one-starred kitchen in the Rheingau, as is Jean, also in Eltville. In town, martino.kitchen and the Balthasar Ress wine bar make the easiest evenings. Inside the Kurhaus, Joker'S serves a short Gaul Catering menu to playing guests from 18:00 to 22:00. There is no Michelin-starred restaurant inside Wiesbaden itself in the 2026 guide.

Casino restaurant

Joker'S

Playing guests only

The restaurant sits in the classic gaming area and serves only guests who are playing; tables cannot be reserved. The menu dated March 2026 is short and seasonal: burrata (€20.95), vitello tonnato (€18.95), shrimp on wild-herb salad (€26.95), truffle tagliolini (€25.95), beef-fillet medallions on mash (€39.95), a cheese selection (€20.95) and salmon tartare (€23.90). On the drinks side the card lists Kir Royal, Aperol Spritz, Henkell Brut by the glass at €12.50 and a handful of open wines from around €7 for 0.2 l. The menu is deliberately reduced during the Kurhaus kitchen works.

Casino bars

Joker'S Bar and K1 Bar

Bar

The Joker'S Bar sits in the historic classic hall with a view of the roulette, blackjack and poker tables and serves cocktails, wine and draught beer. The K1 Bar keeps the slot hall company and opens onto a terrace facing the Kurhaus and the Bowling Green in warm weather. The casino says there is no obligation to play to enjoy either bar.

Closed for renovation, due 2027

Kurhaus Restaurant

Closed

The traditional Kurhaus restaurant is closed for a kitchen renovation and is announced to reopen in 2027, without a date. The Kurpark beer garden (250 seats, currywurst, tarte flambée and a winegrowers' platter) reopened in June 2026 and was expected to run to the end of September, so assume it is shut for the winter.

Ente at Kloster Eberbach

1 Michelin starChef Michael Kammermeier

For 46 years the Ente was the kitchen of the Nassauer Hof and held its star without a break. While the hotel is rebuilt, it cooks in the Pfortenhaus of Kloster Eberbach: about 40 seats, opened 18 March 2026 as a temporary home. The official three-course "Entdeckungsreise" is €100, booked for 18:00–19:00; Michelin names longer menus ("Küchenrunde" and a vegetarian "Querbeet") of five to eight courses.

Questions

Is there a Michelin-starred restaurant in Wiesbaden itself?

Not in the 2026 guide. Starred kitchens in the Rheingau include Ente at Kloster Eberbach and Jean, both in Eltville.

Can I dine at Joker'S without playing?

No. The restaurant serves only guests who are playing, and tables cannot be reserved. It runs daily from 18:00 to 22:00.

What do I wear to dinner?

The casino asks for appropriate clothing and rules out sportswear, hoodies and similar. Ente and the other restaurants do not publish a dress code; smart casual is a safe default.

Is the Kloster Eberbach reachable by train?

With rail works on the right-bank Rhine line until 12 December 2026, go by car or taxi. Afterwards: train to Eltville, then bus 172 hourly.
